Margarito vs Cotto 2 News

New York’s Madison Square Garden will host the Super Welterweight WBA World Championship between Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto on the 3rd of December 2011.  Many press conferences have been held in anticipation of this match, of course, with both sides showing how certain they are of winning this second match.  Both demonstrate once again that they are very even match, with similar, very aggressive boxing styles.  Margarito is generally a slower starter than Cotto however, which is something Cotto hopes to use to his advantage.

Margarito spends most of his time discussing the fact that he is fit and healthy enough to return to boxing, after the horrible injuries he sustained during his fight against Manny Pacquiao.  He suffered a fractured right orbital bone and an eye muscle was trapped in this fracture.  The operation – which is normally meant to happen immediately – was postponed for three days due to the extreme swelling in his face.  Since then, many medical examinations have taken place, including one as little as a few days ago.  However, Margarito and his camp assure everyone that all is well and that he is ready to fight.

Cotto, on his side, mainly faces questions about whether he is worried about being beat up once again, as he suffered terrible and bleeding injuries the last time the two met.  He has since suggested that he believes Margarito used plaster on his hand wraps, an offence he was convicted of following his fight against Shane Mosley, but he now states he no longer wants to talk about this issue and is confident that he will be able to win the fight on his own merit.

We are likely to see much more news appear before the match, particularly through HBO’s standard 24/7 series that is always shown before a big match such as this one.

Cotto vs Margarito live can be followed online or on TV. No matter what option you go for, do not miss this fight!

On the 12th of November 2011 Manny Pacquiao will finally meet Juan Manual Marquez in the ring of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The fight has been much anticipated and has been covered in much of the media in the build up to the fight.

Those in Pacquiao’s camp have stated that Manny is training harder than ever as he wants to “kill” Marquez.  This is the third time the two welterweights will meet in the ring, the first time resulting in a draw and the second time resulting in a victory but on a decision that was very questionable.  This time, according to Pacquiao, there will be no doubt over who the real winner will be.  Pacquiao has set his mind on defeating Marquez in a knock out this time.

The bookies seem to agree with Pacquiao, having set the odds at 8 to 1.  However, everybody does agree that it will, by no means, be an easy match, as Marquez has very precise punches and has also been training very hard over the past few months.  He claims that the decision in the second match they fought was faulty and that he should have been declared the winner, and intends to set this record straight himself.

With two men so desperate to win and so sure that they are the stronger man, this match is set to be one that will keep you on the edge of your seat.  Will Pacquiao be able to deliver that knockout punch?  Or has Marquez trained so hard that he has perfected his punches, delivering not only his famous accuracy and speed, but also the required force behind it to take out Pacquiao?  Or will it be another draw, leaving boxing fanatics waiting for yet another rematch?  Watch Pacquiao vs Marquez live stream and see the outcome!

This coming Saturday night at the MGM Grand Arena, possibly one of the biggest boxing fights of the year is set to take place between the flamboyant Floyd Mayweather and the meek and humble Victor Ortiz.  Known for their punishing fights in the past, both of these boxers together in the same ring is poised to be an explosive showdown.  The fight favorite, Floyd Mayweather promises to come out swinging but may be suppressed by the awesome defensive stance and prowess shown by Mexican born Ortiz leading him to back off and give a chance to start on the offense against his formidable opponent.

Pre-fight interviews with the fighters tell a tale of a hotly contested bout of which both are confident of victory but at the end of the day it will come down to heart and determination, and both of these fights have the determination to win it – Ortiz to end Mayweather’s 41 fight winning streak and ending his unbeaten record and Mayweather to take Ortiz’s championship from him.

The fight odds for the betting community are heavily favored to have a Mayweather win with odds of -800 but those that take the chance on Ortiz as a +500 underdog could be pleasantly rewarded with a handsome pay-out ratio of 5:1. A win for Ortiz would upset many Mayweather punters who are confident that they have a sure thing on the bad boy of professional boxing.

For the boxers, each will see an appearance payment of just over $8,000,000 and the winner can expect to take home a rumored $20,000,000 bonus for winning the fight, which would be Ortiz’s biggest prize money to date if he wins it, even though most of the 1.5 million viewers that paid for the HBO pay per view broadcast will probably tuning in to see the flamboyant Mayweather take out another opponent. Not more than a few weeks ago, the internet was abuzz with rumors of Mayweather’s retirement, but his management was quick to squash these as mere rumors stating that the long awaited fight against Manny Pacquiao was next in the fighter’s schedule. Saturday tune in for Mayweather vs Ortiz live!

Wladimir Klitschko a Robot?

At a recent news conference, David Haye referred to his upcoming opponent, Wladimir Klitschko, as a robot in his fighting style.  The flamboyant and cock-sure Haye told reporters that Klitschko’s style is very stiff, like a robot, and that the robot will malfunction in their upcoming July 2 fight.  This continues the trash talk of Haye since the first conference held in Hamburg.  It has also added to the tension between the two fighters.

Haye still refuses to publicly shake Klitschko’s hand.  Speaking at the last press conference in Hamburg, Haye appeared ready for the fight.  He demonstrated his usual cockiness in speaking about the fight.  Haye stated that he is in the best shape ever.  He continued his trash talk by saying that Wladimir’s style doesn’t let him flow like Haye.  Haye sounded somewhat like Mohammed Ali’s “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee” in his talk.

Haye was over a half hour late for the press conference and Klitschko’s brother, Vitali, asked Haye if he would show up at the post fight press conference.  Haye retorted that he would be there and hoped Vitali would be too and not at the hospital with his brother. What made the Vitali-Haye exchange interesting was the undercurrent of a revenge match should Klitschko lose.  Klitschko also got in a few good words by referring to Haye as a “princess” and said he didn’t mind waiting for her highness to show up.  Wladimir promised to show Haye respect in the ring on Saturday.

Whether Haye will win on Saturday is a big question.  Most judges are going with Klitschko, but as with any boxing match there is always the chance Haye could win.  And if Haye does win, the bets are on that Vitali, Dr. Iron Fist, will seek to revenge the family honor. Don’t miss this fight! You can also watch Haye vs Klitschko live online. Just make sure that you have a decent internet connection!
