This coming Saturday night at the MGM Grand Arena, possibly one of the biggest boxing fights of the year is set to take place between the flamboyant Floyd Mayweather and the meek and humble Victor Ortiz.  Known for their punishing fights in the past, both of these boxers together in the same ring is poised to be an explosive showdown.  The fight favorite, Floyd Mayweather promises to come out swinging but may be suppressed by the awesome defensive stance and prowess shown by Mexican born Ortiz leading him to back off and give a chance to start on the offense against his formidable opponent.

Pre-fight interviews with the fighters tell a tale of a hotly contested bout of which both are confident of victory but at the end of the day it will come down to heart and determination, and both of these fights have the determination to win it – Ortiz to end Mayweather’s 41 fight winning streak and ending his unbeaten record and Mayweather to take Ortiz’s championship from him.

The fight odds for the betting community are heavily favored to have a Mayweather win with odds of -800 but those that take the chance on Ortiz as a +500 underdog could be pleasantly rewarded with a handsome pay-out ratio of 5:1. A win for Ortiz would upset many Mayweather punters who are confident that they have a sure thing on the bad boy of professional boxing.

For the boxers, each will see an appearance payment of just over $8,000,000 and the winner can expect to take home a rumored $20,000,000 bonus for winning the fight, which would be Ortiz’s biggest prize money to date if he wins it, even though most of the 1.5 million viewers that paid for the HBO pay per view broadcast will probably tuning in to see the flamboyant Mayweather take out another opponent. Not more than a few weeks ago, the internet was abuzz with rumors of Mayweather’s retirement, but his management was quick to squash these as mere rumors stating that the long awaited fight against Manny Pacquiao was next in the fighter’s schedule. Saturday tune in for Mayweather vs Ortiz live!
